Project Information:

Limestone2025R_Millard_S3 is a Plantation Forestry project located in the Moyne Shire of western Victoria, approximately 50km northwest of Warrnambool. It was registered in July 2025 and covers 389.49ha.

Plantation forestry projects of this type generate carbon credits by avoiding the conversion of an existing or recently harvested plantation back to non-forested agricultural land. The methodology standardizes the requirements for carbon sequestration by mandating the establishment and maintenance of a new plantation forest dedicated to the commercial harvesting of wood products.

The Moyne Shire sits within the "Green Triangle," a region renowned for its extensive commercial softwood and hardwood forestry, as well as sheep and cattle grazing. The area features a temperate, Mediterranean-style climate with high winter-dominant rainfall that promotes rapid tree growth. The local soils typically form over a limestone base and are characterized by sandy loams, nutrient-rich terra rossa, and clays.

An interesting note about this project is that its primary proponent officially changed on December 23, 2025, from The Trust Company (PTAL) Limited (acting as trustee for ANZFOF2 Sub 1) to OneFortyOne Plantations Pty Ltd. OneFortyOne is a major timber operator managing tens of thousands of hectares in the region, and they are running this project in partnership with the specialized forestry management company, SFM Environmental Solutions Pty Ltd.
