Project Information:

Limestone2025R_Shider_S3 is a plantation forestry project located approximately 35km northwest of Warrnambool in South West Victoria. It was registered in July 2025 and covers 132.36ha.

Plantation forestry projects generate carbon credits by storing carbon in plantation trees. Under standard methodology requirements, projects must involve establishing a new plantation, converting a short-rotation forest to a long-rotation, or avoiding the conversion of a plantation back to non-forested land, all while maintaining a stocking density appropriate for commercial timber harvesting.

The South West Victoria region, part of the broader Green Triangle, is well known for intensive dairying, cattle grazing, and significant commercial forestry operations. The environment is considered a high-rainfall zone and features highly fertile, well-drained volcanic soils composed primarily of basalt loams and clay.

This project sequesters carbon by explicitly avoiding the conversion of an existing or harvested plantation into non-forested agricultural land. Instead of clearing the land for pasture, the proponent is maintaining and re-establishing the plantation for commercial wood products. Additionally, in December 2025, an administrative variation transferred the proponent name from The Trust Company (PTAL) Limited (as trustee for ANZFOF2 Sub 1) to OneFortyOne Plantations Pty Ltd, a major timber operator in the region. The property is actively managed by the specialised forestry agency SFM Environmental Solutions Pty Ltd.
