Cooplacurripa Environmental Planting Project (Phase 3)

Project Information:

Cooplacurripa Environmental Planting Project (Phase 3) is an environmental planting project located at Cooplacurripa Station, approximately 45km north of Gloucester and west of Taree in NSW. It was registered in September 2026 and covers 2172.19ha.

Environmental planting projects involve establishing and maintaining permanent mixed-species native plantings, generally planted at a density of at least 200 stems per hectare to achieve proper forest cover. This methodology ensures that the species mix accurately reflects the structure and composition of the local native vegetation community.

The Cooplacurripa area, situated in the Upper Manning Catchment on Biripi/Birpai Country, is historically known for extensive beef cattle farming and is surrounded by national parks and state forestry operations. The region is characterised as a high-rainfall valley and soils are generally rich alluvial and clay loam.

This phase is part of a broader flagship initiative by Silva Capital and Covalent Land Australia that officially links Australia's legislated Nature Repair Market with the carbon market. Operating on a "stacked" credit model, the broader Cooplacurripa project generates both Australian Carbon Credit Units (ACCUs) and biodiversity credits from the same parcel of land, seamlessly integrating large-scale landscape restoration and cultural heritage protection with ongoing productive cattle grazing.
