Lenah2026R_Wentworth_S1S3 is a plantation forestry project located in the Central Highlands of Tasmania, approximately 7km north of the town of Tarraleah. It was registered in August 2026 and covers 168.16 hectares.

Plantation forestry projects typically involve establishing a new plantation forest or avoiding the conversion of an existing or harvested plantation to non-forested land. Under this methodology, the project sequesters carbon by establishing and maintaining the forest for the long-term commercial harvesting of wood products.

The Central Highlands region of Tasmania is heavily utilised for commercial forestry operations, grazing, and hydroelectric power generation. The area experiences a cool, temperate climate known for high, reliable rainfall, and features dolerite-derived soils, basalts, and clay loams that are highly suitable for robust softwood and hardwood growth.

The project's proponent, Lenah Estate Pty Ltd, represents a massive 27,150-hectare timber plantation asset across south-central Tasmania which was originally purchased from Norske Skog by New Forests in 2020. The estate is actively managed by SFM Environmental Solutions, who balance their commercial timber harvesting with environmental stewardship. Notably, SFM and Lenah Estate have heavily supported the Tyenna River Recovery program, a collaborative initiative focused on removing invasive willows, planting native trees, and stabilising riverbanks to protect the habitat of local platypus and wild brown trout.
