Catombal Threatened Community Restoration Project

Catombal Threatened Community Restoration Project is an environmental planting project located at Eurimbla, approximately 60km north-west of Orange in NSW. It was registered in August 2026 and covers 17.62ha.

Environmental planting projects involve planting native trees at a density of at least 200 stems per ha.

The Eurimbla area is known for cattle and sheep grazing operations as well as dryland cropping. The area experiences moderate rainfall, and the region is characterized by wide red-soil plains with soils generally consisting of red-brown earths and clay loams.

This project was set up to establish permanent plantings of a mix of native tree and shrub species that are local to the area. The species mix reflects the structure and composition of the local native vegetation community, which aims to assist in the restoration of threatened ecological communities.
