Landari Port Lincoln 2026

Landari Port Lincoln 2026 is a plantation forestry project located on the lower Eyre Peninsula, approximately 14km west of Port Lincoln in South Australia. It was registered in August 2026 and covers 439.26 ha.

Plantation forestry projects of this specific type involve transitioning an existing commercial plantation to a permanent planting. Standard requirements dictate that the proponent must demonstrate the plantation was at a genuine risk of being harvested and converted into non-forested land, such as agricultural pasture. Instead of being clear-felled, the trees are retained and the forest cover must be maintained permanently to ensure long-term carbon sequestration.

The lower Eyre Peninsula area is widely known for broadacre cropping (including wheat and canola) and sheep grazing, alongside historical pockets of commercial forestry. The region is classified as having a moderate-rainfall Mediterranean climate, and the soils are generally a mix of sandy loams, ironstone gravels, and calcareous soils.

This project is managed by Landari Pty Ltd, an Armidale-based specialist carbon and biodiversity offsets developer. Landari manages a broad portfolio of similar plantation assets across Australia, focusing on taking traditional short-term timber properties and transitioning them into permanent carbon sinks to generate Australian Carbon Credit Units (ACCUs).
