'Yummy Grape Carbon Project

Project Information:
Yummy Grape Carbon Project is a soil carbon project located approximately 7km southwest of Mildura in the Sunraysia region of northwestern Victoria. It was registered in July 2026 under the Australian Carbon Credit Unit (ACCU) Scheme. While the exact project area size is unknown, the surrounding Sunraysia region is a major agricultural hub renowned for irrigated horticulture, particularly viticulture (wine and table grapes), citrus, and almonds, as well as broadacre cropping and grazing. The region experiences a semi-arid, low-rainfall climate, and local soils are typically sandy loams and calcareous Mallee soils.
The project operates under the Carbon Farming Initiative (Estimation of Soil Organic Carbon Sequestration using Measurement and Models) Methodology Determination 2021. Soil carbon projects involve implementing new or materially different land management practices to increase the amount of carbon stored in the soil. Standard methodology requirements include establishing a baseline carbon level through direct soil sampling, implementing eligible management activities, and measuring the change in soil carbon over time using a combination of ongoing sampling and models.
This specific project aims to increase soil carbon in the agricultural system by applying nutrients to the land, using synthetic or non-synthetic fertiliser to address a material deficiency. The project is managed by AgriProve Solutions Pty Ltd and Agriprove Pty Ltd, Australia's leading soil carbon project developers. Given the project name "Yummy Grape," the location coordinates, and the specific application of fertilisers to address deficiencies, it is highly likely this project is being implemented on a commercial vineyard looking to boost soil health and yield while simultaneously earning carbon credits.
