'APAC Jynoomah

APAC Jynoomah is a soil carbon project located at Jynoomah, a pastoral property approximately 40-50km west of Tambo in the Blackall-Tambo Region of Central Western Queensland. It was registered in July 2026 and its total project area is currently unknown.

The Tambo area is steeped in outback pastoral history and is heavily dominated by sheep and cattle grazing operations. The region experiences a semi-arid climate with an average long-term annual rainfall of approximately 530mm. Regional soil profiles generally consist of a mix of cracking clays (common in Mitchell grass downs), sandy loams, and red soils over sandstone.

Soil carbon projects registered under the 2021 Measurement and Models methodology aim to increase soil organic carbon by introducing new or materially different land management practices. These projects are required to prove carbon sequestration through rigorous soil core sampling, laboratory analysis, and approved modelling over the course of the crediting period.

At APAC Jynoomah, the proponent is increasing carbon in the agricultural soil system by altering the stocking rate, duration, and intensity of grazing. These activities are specifically designed to promote soil vegetation cover, improve moisture retention, and improve overall soil health.

The project is operated by APAC Natural Capital Pty Ltd, a corporate carbon portfolio management firm holding an Australian Financial Services Licence (AFSL) to provide carbon-related financial advice, trading, and project development for landowners. In a charming local connection, "Jynoomah" is one of the pastoral properties honoured by Tambo Teddies, a famous outback community business that creates handmade, 100% woollen sheepskin bears and names each one after a regional property to celebrate Tambo's rich pastoral heritage.
