Cultura Australia Plantation Project No. 3

Cultura Australia Plantation Project No. 3 is a plantation forestry project located across the Augusta Margaret River, Bridgetown-Greenbushes, and Cranbrook local government areas, ranging roughly 40km to 160km south and southeast of Bunbury in Western Australia. It was registered in February 2026 and covers an initial area of 1274.54ha.

Plantation forestry projects operating under the 2022 methodology involve establishing and maintaining a new plantation forest designed for the commercial harvesting of wood products. These types of projects require proponents to maintain specific tree stocking densities and management practices to ensure a viable forest canopy is achieved for carbon sequestration.

The South West and Great Southern regions of Western Australia are well known for commercial timber operations, cattle grazing, cropping, and viticulture. The area experiences a Mediterranean climate characterized by high winter rainfall, and the region's soils are generally composed of lateritic ironstone gravels, sandy loams, and clay loams.

This project sequesters carbon by growing a new commercial timber plantation. Following its registration, the project has steadily expanded, with variations successfully adding more land areas to the project boundary in April, June, and August of 2026.
