Cultura Australia Plantation Project No. 3
ERF207092
Project Information:
Cultura Australia Plantation Project No. 3 is a plantation forestry project located approximately 25km north of Manjimup in the South West region of Western Australia. It was registered in February 2026 and covers 248.52 hectares.
Projects operating under the Carbon Credits (Carbon Farming Initiative-Plantation Forestry) Methodology Determination 2022 involve establishing and maintaining a new plantation forest for the commercial harvesting of wood products. These projects earn Australian Carbon Credit Units (ACCUs) for the carbon sequestered in both the growing trees and the resulting harvested wood products.
The Manjimup area is well known for agriculture, broadacre grazing, cropping, and extensive commercial forestry. The region experiences high rainfall and generally features lateritic gravelly and sandy loam soils perfectly suited for robust tree growth.
Cultura Australia has been establishing softwood pine (Pinus radiata) plantations in the region, typically planting at a density of around 1,100 stems per hectare on land previously used for agricultural grazing. The proponent's operations are designed to supply forest products to domestic and international markets, notably aiming to help address Australia's looming national supply gap in timber house frames.
