Landari Tasmanian Aggregation 2025

Project Information:

Landari Tasmanian Aggregation 2025 is a plantation forestry project located in the Meander Valley region of Tasmania, approximately 20km southeast of Deloraine and 40km southwest of Launceston. It was registered in February 2026 and covers 80.51 hectares.

Plantation forestry projects generate carbon credits by establishing and maintaining a new plantation forest for the commercial harvesting of wood products, or by avoiding the conversion of an existing or recently harvested plantation to non-forested land. Projects are typically required to maintain standard stocking densities for commercial viability and must demonstrate that without the carbon scheme, the land would have been financially driven to convert to an alternative agricultural or non-forested use.

The Meander Valley area is a major agricultural hub well known for dairy farming, sheep and cattle grazing, and significant forestry operations in the higher elevations. The region experiences a cool climate with high rainfall, often exceeding 800-1000mm annually. Soils in the area are highly varied but frequently feature fertile red or brown clay Ferrosols formed from volcanic basalt, as well as alluvial Dermosols.

This project sequesters carbon by ensuring that an existing commercial plantation is not converted to non-forested land, whilst also establishing a new plantation forest. The project proponent, Landari Pty Ltd, is an active developer in both the carbon and biodiversity offset markets across Australia, focusing on permanent vegetation to sequester carbon.
