Toweran Park Carbon Project 2
ERF206889
Project Information:
Toweran Park Carbon Project 2 is a soil carbon sequestration project located in the rural locality of Toweran, approximately 25km northeast of Miriam Vale and 80km northwest of Bundaberg, Queensland. Registered in December 2025, the project covers a land area of roughly 613 hectares. The project is situated within the Central Queensland coastal hinterland, a region traditionally dominated by beef cattle grazing and forestry operations.
The project operates under the 2021 Soil Carbon methodology, specifically aiming to increase soil organic carbon levels through changes in agricultural management. The project proponent, Agriprove Solutions, creates these credits by altering the stocking rate, duration, and intensity of grazing to improve vegetation cover. Additionally, the project design explicitly includes the introduction of legume species into pasture systems to enhance soil health and nitrogen fixation.
Environmentally, the Toweran area experiences a sub-tropical climate characterized by summer-dominant rainfall, averaging between 800mm and 1000mm annually. The local landscape typically features a mix of soil types, ranging from alluvial loams along Toweran Creek to texture-contrast soils (such as Sodosols or Chromosols) on the surrounding grazing ridges. Notably, the numbering of this project suggests it is part of a larger aggregated estate, with a "Toweran Park Carbon Project 3" also appearing in regulatory registers shortly after this project's registration.
