Eco Park Habitat

Project Information:
Eco Park Habitat (formerly Tyagarah Collective) is an environmental planting project run by proponent Cameron Wallace. It is located in Tyagarah, approximately 8km north of Byron Bay in the Northern Rivers region of NSW. It was registered in November 2025 and covers 10.51 ha.
Environmental planting projects involve establishing permanent plantings of native tree and shrub species at a density of at least 200 stems per ha to achieve forest cover. The species mix must reflect the structure and composition of the local native vegetation community.
The Tyagarah area is known for coastal nature conservation, tourism, rural residential living, and agriculture. The region is considered high rainfall, experiencing an annual average of over 1,500 mm. The soils in this coastal area typically consist of sandy coastal soils and podzols, with some nearby low-lying areas containing acid sulfate and alluvial soils.
This project was originally registered as Tyagarah Collective before changing its name to Eco Park Habitat in February 2026. It is situated close to the Tyagarah Nature Reserve, a 7km stretch of unspoilt coastline known for its coastal heath. The name 'Tyagarah' is derived from the local Bundjalung language, meaning "open grass country" or "camping ground".
