Project Information:
The Fresh Earth Agriculture - Glenclair Reforestation Project is an environmental planting project located in the locality of Watsons Creek, approximately 15 kilometers north of Bendemeer and 50 kilometers northeast of Tamworth in the New England region of New South Wales. Registered in October 2025, the project covers a significant area of 3,618 hectares on the "Glenclair" property.
The region is historically dominated by grazing enterprises, specifically cattle and sheep breeding, with the project area itself formerly part of the "Glenclair Aggregation," a well-known pastoral holding. The local environment typically experiences a temperate climate with a summer-dominant rainfall pattern, averaging roughly 700mm to 800mm annually. The landscape is characterized by undulating country and river flats, often featuring granite-based or trap soils common to the Bendemeer granite belt.
This project utilizes the "Reforestation by Environmental or Mallee Plantings-FullCAM 2024" methodology. This involves establishing permanent plantings of native tree and shrub species at a density sufficient to achieve forest cover (typically at least 200 stems per hectare). The project specifically aims to replicate the structure and composition of the local native vegetation community, transitioning land previously used for grazing into a carbon sink that also supports local biodiversity.
