Fresh Earth Agriculture - Glenclair Reforestation Project

Fresh Earth Agriculture - Glenclair Reforestation Project is an environmental planting project located in the locality of Watsons Creek, approximately 15km north of Bendemeer and 50km northeast of Tamworth in the New England region of New South Wales. It was registered in October 2025 and currently covers 1,403.91 hectares across the Glenclair property.

Environmental planting projects under the 2024 methodology involve establishing permanent plantings of native tree and shrub species at a density sufficient to achieve forest cover, typically requiring at least 200 stems per hectare.

The New England region is historically dominated by grazing enterprises, primarily focusing on cattle and sheep breeding. The local environment features an undulating landscape of river flats and steeper timbered areas, characterised by granite-based or trap soils common to the Bendemeer granite belt. The area experiences a temperate climate with a summer-dominant rainfall pattern, averaging roughly 700mm to 800mm annually.

This project establishes permanent plantings of a mix of native tree and shrub species that are local to the area, specifically designed to reflect the structure and composition of the local native vegetation community. By transitioning portions of land into a permanent carbon sink, the project actively supports local biodiversity. The project is part of the larger 10,403-acre Glenclair Aggregation, which includes Glenclair, Airlie Station, and Yaccamunda. The proponent has ensured that traditional farming practices can be maintained on the property alongside the carbon activities, and a supplementary soil carbon project (Fresh Earth Agriculture - Glenclair Soil Carbon Project) also runs parallel on the same aggregation. Following its registration, the project underwent two area variations in July and September 2026, where listed areas within the project boundaries were removed and amended.
