Gloria's Carbon Project

Project Information:
Gloria's Carbon Project is a soil carbon sequestration project located approximately 15km southwest of Gympie in the Wide Bay-Burnett region of Queensland. Registered in March 2025, the project covers a project area of roughly 208 hectares. The site is situated within a region heavily utilized for beef cattle grazing and dairy farming, characterized by its rolling hills and sub-tropical climate.
This project operates under the 2021 Soil Carbon methodology (Estimation of Soil Organic Carbon Sequestration using Measurement and Models). The primary goal of this method is to increase the amount of carbon stored in the soil, which is measured through baseline and subsequent soil sampling. To achieve this, the project proponent, Agriprove Solutions, works with the landholder to implement new management activities. For Gloria's Carbon Project, these activities include re-establishing or rejuvenating pastures through seeding and altering the stocking rate or intensity of grazing. These changes are designed to improve ground cover and soil health, thereby accelerating the drawdown of carbon from the atmosphere into the soil profile.
The environment in the Gympie region typically experiences high rainfall compared to inland Queensland, often averaging between 800mm and 1100mm annually, which is conducive to rapid pasture growth. The local soil landscape is diverse, often consisting of red ferrosols (krasnozems), podzolics, and alluvial loams in the valleys. These soil types generally respond well to regenerative grazing practices, allowing for significant potential in carbon sequestration when management intensity is optimized.
