Lloyd Carbon Project 5

Project Information:

Lloyd Carbon Project 5 is a soil carbon sequestration project located in the Riverina region of New South Wales, approximately 20 kilometers south of the town of Temora. Registered on October 21, 2024, the project covers a land area of roughly 104 hectares. The site is situated near the locality of Sebastopol, in a region heavily utilized for mixed farming, particularly the production of wheat, canola, and wool.

The project operates under the 2021 Soil Carbon methodology, which incentivizes landholders to adopt management practices that increase soil organic carbon levels. Common activities for this project type include altering grazing intensity to improve vegetation cover, applying specific nutrients to address soil deficiencies, and converting to reduced tillage practices. Under this specific method, the proponent must conduct baseline soil sampling and subsequent rounds of testing to empirically measure carbon increases over time, rather than relying solely on theoretical models.

Environmentally, the Temora region is characterized by a warm temperate climate with a semi-arid influence. The area typically receives an annual rainfall of approximately 525mm, with red-brown earths and clay soils being dominant. These conditions are generally favorable for soil carbon projects when moisture retention strategies are implemented effectively. The project is developed by AgriProve Solutions, a prominent soil carbon developer known for managing a large portfolio of similar projects across Australia.
