Lloyd Carbon Project 4

Project Information:
Lloyd Carbon Project 4 is a soil carbon sequestration project located approximately 20 kilometers south-west of Temora in the Riverina region of New South Wales. Registered in October 2024, the project covers a project area of roughly 136 hectares. The surrounding region is heavily utilized for mixed farming operations, particularly cereal cropping (wheat and canola) combined with sheep and cattle grazing.
This project operates under the 2021 Soil Carbon methodology, which incentivizes landholders to modify their land management practices to increase soil organic carbon stocks. To generate Australian Carbon Credit Units (ACCUs), the project proponent must establish a baseline of soil carbon and then implement new activities such as applying synthetic or non-synthetic nutrients, re-establishing pastures with new species, and altering grazing intensity or duration. By converting from intensive tillage to reduced tillage and retaining stubble, the project aims to improve soil health and vegetation cover, which is measured and modelled over time to quantify carbon abatement.
The Temora region typically experiences a temperate climate with a mean annual rainfall of approximately 525mm, which supports the area's dryland cropping systems. The soils in this locality are predominantly Red Chromosols (red-brown earths), which are known for their potential agricultural productivity but can be susceptible to acidity and structure decline if not carefully managed. The project is managed by Agriprove Solutions, a prominent developer in the Australian soil carbon sector.
