Beddall Carbon Project 5

Project Information:
Beddall Carbon Project 5 is a soil carbon project located approximately 25km southwest of Moura in the Banana Shire region of Central Queensland. Registered in September 2025, the project covers 212 hectares and is part of a broader aggregation of carbon projects (including Beddall 1 through 10) managed by the same proponent, Agriprove Solutions. This "stacking" or subdivision strategy is often used on large cattle stations to manage project baselining and crediting periods more effectively.
The project operates under the 2021 Soil Carbon methodology, which allows landholders to earn Australian Carbon Credit Units (ACCUs) by sequestering carbon in agricultural soils. The specific activities for this project involve altering stocking rates and grazing intensity to improve vegetation cover, alongside the introduction of legume species into pasture systems. By optimizing grazing pressure, the project aims to increase soil organic carbon (SOC) levels while maintaining the land's primary use for agriculture.
The Moura region is situated within the Brigalow Belt and is historically significant for cattle grazing and cropping. The area experiences a sub-tropical climate with a summer-dominant rainfall averaging around 730mm per year. The soils in this district are typically fertile cracking clays (Vertosols) or loamy soils derived from cleared Brigalow scrub, which are generally well-suited for soil carbon sequestration efforts due to their high clay content and capacity to retain organic matter.
