Primary Industries Efficiency Project (Revoked)

Project Information:
Primary Industries Efficiency Project (Revoked) is an industrial energy efficiency project that was managed nation-wide across Australia. It was registered in October 2021 by the proponent Corporate Carbon Advisory Pty Ltd. Because this project aggregated efficiency activities across an unknown number of sites, specific coordinates and a defined project area were not reported. Consequently, it is not possible to pinpoint a nearest major town, identify general regional land uses, or determine typical rainfall classifications and soil types.
The project operated under the Industrial Electricity and Fuel Efficiency methodology. Projects of this type generate carbon credits by reducing energy consumption or changing the energy sources used by existing commercial or industrial equipment. To earn credits, standard requirements dictate that proponents must demonstrate measurable energy and emissions reductions compared to a historical baseline, generally achieved by upgrading eligible equipment, altering operational controls, or implementing fuel switching.
Corporate Carbon Advisory Pty Ltd proposed a vast array of energy-saving activities for this project. The extensive list included upgrading HVAC systems, installing building management control systems, improving refrigeration, upgrading boilers and motors, and transitioning to cloud computing and server virtualisation. These activities aimed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by replacing heavy grid electricity usage with more efficient processes or on-site renewable energy generation.
Despite its broad technological scope, the project was officially revoked on April 17, 2024, under Section 30 of the CFI Rule. This specific section of the carbon scheme legislation applies to the voluntary revocation of a project, indicating that the proponent requested to cancel the project's registration before continuing further.
