DAC-2015-12 (Revoked)
ERF101963
Project Information:
DAC-2015-12 (Revoked) was a Native Forest from Managed Regrowth project located approximately 80km north of Bollon in the Balonne region of Queensland. Registered in September 2015, the project covered a significant area of 6,874 hectares. The project was situated in the Mulga Lands bioregion, an area traditionally dominated by grazing operations for sheep and cattle.
The project operated under the Native Forest from Managed Regrowth methodology, which rewards landholders for allowing native vegetation to regenerate on land that had previously been cleared for pastoral use. The core activity involved the cessation of mechanical or chemical clearing and the suppression of regrowth, often coupled with managed grazing pressure to ensure vegetation could reach forest maturity. In this specific region, the environmental conditions are semi-arid, typically receiving around 400-500mm of annual rainfall. The soils are predominantly red earths (Kandosols) and texture-contrast soils, which support the regeneration of species such as Mulga (Acacia aneura) and Poplar Box.
Notably, the project was revoked on August 13, 2021, shortly after the proponent, Devine Agribusiness Carbon, was acquired by GreenCollar in July 2021. Prior to this revocation, the project had successfully completed its carbon abatement contract (CAC102415), meaning it had delivered the contracted volume of Australian Carbon Credit Units (ACCUs) to the Clean Energy Regulator. The revocation suggests a strategic restructuring of the portfolio by the new owners, a common occurrence when aggregators consolidate assets or transition land to different management strategies.
