DAC-2015-10 (Revoked)

Project Information:
DAC-2015-10 (Revoked) was a Native Forest from Managed Regrowth project located in the Maranoa region of Southwest Queensland, approximately 80km southwest of the town of Surat. Registered in September 2015, the project covered a significant area of nearly 13,000 hectares (12,963.78 ha). The region is predominantly utilized for pastoral activities, specifically grazing cattle and sheep on native vegetation, which aligns with the land use history required for this methodology.
The project operated under the Native Forest from Managed Regrowth (NFMR) methodology. This method is designed for landholders who wish to regenerate native forests on land that has previously been cleared for pastoral use. The core activity involves the cessation of mechanical or chemical suppression of regrowth, effectively allowing the forest to return naturally from in-situ seed sources, rootstock, or lignotubers. To be eligible, the land must have the potential to reach "forest cover" status, defined as trees at least two meters high with a crown cover of at least 20%.
Environmentally, the Maranoa region is characterized by a semi-arid climate with variable rainfall, typically averaging between 500mm and 600mm annually. The soils in this specific area often vary between red earths (Kandosols), which commonly support Mulga vegetation, and cracking clays (Vertosols) found on floodplains. The project was managed by Devine Agribusiness Carbon Pty Ltd, a proponent responsible for a large portfolio of similar regeneration projects in Southwest Queensland. Notably, the project was revoked on August 20, 2021, under section 30 of the CFI Rule, meaning it is no longer an active participant in the ACCU scheme.
