DAC-2015-21 (Revoked)

Project Information:

DAC-2015-21 (Revoked) was a Native Forest from Managed Regrowth project located approximately 12km south-east of the town of Morven in the Maranoa region of Queensland. Registered in September 2015, the project covered an area of roughly 2,009 hectares. The project is currently listed as revoked under section 30 of the CFI Rule, a status update applied in August 2021.

The region surrounding Morven is situated within the Mulga Lands bioregion, characterized by semi-arid conditions and rainfall that is often variable. The landscape is dominated by grazing properties for sheep and cattle, supported by red earth and sandy loam soils that typically host Mulga (Acacia aneura) and Poplar Box woodlands.

This project operated under the Native Forest from Managed Regrowth (NFMR) methodology. Unlike environmental plantings which involve active seeding, NFMR projects rely on the regeneration of native vegetation from in-situ seed sources, rootstocks, or lignotubers. The core activity involves ceasing the mechanical or chemical suppression of regrowth (such as chaining or bulldozing) on land that was historically cleared for pastoral use.

Devine Agribusiness Carbon Pty Ltd, a company founded by local agribusiness consultants and graziers, was the proponent for this project. In July 2021, shortly before this project's revocation, Devine Agribusiness Carbon was acquired by GreenCollar, a major environmental markets investor. It is noted that the project's carbon abatement contract (CAC102399) had already lapsed or been terminated in 2017, several years prior to the formal revocation of the project itself.
