DAC-2015-09 (Revoked)
ERF101960
Project Information:
DAC-2015-09 (Revoked) was a native forest regeneration project located approximately 110km north-west of St George in the Balonne region of Southern Queensland. Registered in October 2015, the project covered a substantial area of 10,343 hectares. The project operated under the Native Forest from Managed Regrowth (NFMR) methodology, which credits landholders for allowing native vegetation to regenerate on land that was previously cleared for pastoral use.
The primary activity of the project involved the cessation of mechanical or chemical suppression of regrowth, effectively allowing the land to return to a forest state through assisted regeneration from in-situ seed sources like rootstock and lignotubers. This area of Queensland is typically characterized by grazing land use, supported by a semi-arid climate with annual rainfall averaging between 500mm and 600mm. The local environment likely consists of a mix of Vertosols (cracking clay soils) on floodplains and Kandosols (red earth) on higher ground, supporting vegetation such as Mulga or Eucalypt woodlands.
A notable aspect of this project is its revocation on August 20, 2021. This date closely follows the acquisition of the proponent, Devine Agribusiness Carbon (DAC), by GreenCollar in July 2021. It is common for project portfolios to be restructured or consolidated following such acquisitions, although the specific reason for revocation (Section 30 of the CFI Rule) generally implies a voluntary exit from the scheme for that specific project registration.
