DAC-2015-11 (Revoked)

Project Information:

DAC-2015-11 (Revoked) was a Native Forest from Managed Regrowth project located approximately 100km south of Morven and 130km south-east of Charleville in South West Queensland. It was registered in September 2015 and covers an expansive 21,039.26 ha.

Native Forest from Managed Regrowth projects involve regenerating native forest on land that has been subject to at least one comprehensive clearing for pastoral use. Standard requirements include ceasing the mechanical or chemical destruction of regrowth and changing land management practices, such as excluding livestock or altering grazing patterns, to allow native trees to attain forest cover. For this methodology, achieving forest cover generally means the trees reach at least 2 metres in height with a minimum of 20% crown cover.

The South West Queensland region, encompassing the Murweh and Maranoa local government areas, is widely known for extensive sheep and cattle grazing operations on native pastures. The environment is considered semi-arid, characterised by persistent, hot, and dry periods with highly variable, low rainfall. Soils in this grazing region typically consist of mulga-based red earths (often referred to as "red country") alongside grey and brown cracking clays.

This project was developed by Devine Agribusiness Carbon Pty Ltd, a prominent project proponent that was subsequently acquired by major environmental markets investor GreenCollar in July 2021. Following this acquisition, the project was officially revoked on August 13, 2021, under section 30 of the CFI Rule.
