Lynbrae Carbon Project

Project Information:

Lynbrae Carbon Project is a Soil Organic Carbon Sequestration project located approximately 25km northwest of Deniliquin in the Riverina region of New South Wales. It was registered in September 2026 and covers 596.37 ha.

Soil organic carbon sequestration projects involve adopting new or materially different agricultural management practices to increase the storage of carbon in the soil. Under the 2021 methodology, standard requirements dictate that proponents must establish baseline soil carbon levels through physical soil sampling and laboratory analysis before commencing the new eligible activities. Subsequent measurement rounds and modelling are then used to calculate the net increase in soil organic carbon over time, which forms the basis for crediting.

The Deniliquin area is known for significant agricultural operations, including sheep and cattle grazing, as well as dryland and irrigated cropping. The region generally experiences a semi-arid climate with moderate-to-low rainfall averaging around 405mm annually, and the terrain is typically characterised by loams, red-brown earths, and heavy clay soils common to the local floodplains.

This project increases carbon in the soil of the agricultural system by applying nutrients to the land in the form of a synthetic or non-synthetic fertiliser to address a material deficiency. The proponent, Agriprove Solutions Pty Ltd, is Australia's leading soil carbon developer, managing over 700 registered projects nationally. They often utilise advanced satellite monitoring technologies and geospatial data to track changes in soil health, improve farm yields, and streamline the crediting process.
