Lochinvar Carbon Project

Project Information:
Lochinvar Carbon Project is a soil carbon project located approximately 30km northwest of Deniliquin in the Riverina region of New South Wales. It was registered in September 2026 and covers 452.18 ha.
Soil carbon projects under the Measurement and Models methodology involve increasing soil organic carbon by implementing new or materially different management activities. Carbon stock changes are verified through a combination of establishing a baseline via direct soil sampling, followed by subsequent measurement rounds and modelling to estimate the total carbon sequestered.
The Deniliquin area is an established agricultural zone known primarily for sheep and cattle grazing as well as broadacre cropping. The local environment is considered semi-arid, typically receiving a low to moderate average annual rainfall of approximately 405mm. Soils in this part of the Riverina are generally classified as Chromosols, Dermosols, and Vertosols, which can occasionally be hardsetting but respond well to targeted soil management and amelioration.
This project increases carbon in the soil of the agricultural system by applying nutrients to the land in the form of a synthetic or non-synthetic fertiliser to address a material deficiency. It is supported by Agriprove Solutions Pty Ltd, a prominent Australian project developer that assists landholders in transitioning to regenerative agriculture practices and generating Australian Carbon Credit Units (ACCUs).
