ABC Carbon Project 1

Project Information:

ABC Carbon Project 1 is a soil carbon project located in the Buloke Shire, approximately 17km northwest of Donald in Victoria. It was registered in May 2026 and covers 255.21 ha.

Soil carbon projects involve altering agricultural practices to build soil organic carbon over time. Standard requirements include establishing a baseline carbon level through rigorous soil sampling, and undertaking subsequent regular testing and modeling to verify carbon sequestration across the crediting period.

The Buloke area is predominantly known for broadacre cereal cropping and livestock grazing. The region is considered a semi-arid, low rainfall environment, and soils in this dryland plain typically consist of sandy loams and cracking clays.

This project increases carbon in the agricultural soil system by applying nutrients to the land in the form of a synthetic or non-synthetic fertiliser to address a material deficiency. It is managed by AgriProve, an Australian soil carbon developer assisting landholders with the platform and technology to generate Australian Carbon Credit Units (ACCUs) while improving long-term farm resilience and soil health.
