Western Treefarm Project 2C (WTP2C) Minnawarra

Project Information:
Western Treefarm Project 2C (WTP2C) Minnawarra is a plantation forestry project located approximately 30km northeast of Boyup Brook and 30km west of Darkan in Western Australia. It was registered in May 2026 and covers 618.79ha.
Plantation forestry projects involve establishing and maintaining new plantation forests for the commercial harvesting of wood products. Standard requirements dictate that the land must not have been cleared of native forest in the preceding seven years, and the trees must be planted at commercial stocking densities.
The Boyup Brook and West Arthur region is known for a mix of agricultural land uses, including sheep grazing, broadacre cropping, and commercial timber operations. The area features a Mediterranean climate with reliable winter rainfall averaging between 500mm and 700mm annually. Soils in this district are predominantly lateritic ironstone gravels, sandy loams, and duplex soils of sand over clay.
This project is managed by Mitsui & Co. Wood Resources Oceania Pty Ltd, a major forestry operator in the Australian market. They manage extensive pine and eucalyptus estates in Western Australia to sustainably produce certified woodchips, which are exported globally to the paper and pulp industry through their dedicated port facilities in Bunbury.
