Landari FFTT 2025
ERF206879
Project Information:
Landari FFTT 2025 is a plantation forestry project located in the Glenelg Shire of south-western Victoria, approximately 25 kilometers south of Casterton and 15 kilometers north of Dartmoor. Registered on January 21, 2026, the project covers a registered area of 366.07 hectares. The site sits within the "Green Triangle," a premier forestry region spanning the border of South Australia and Victoria, known for its extensive radiata pine and Tasmanian blue gum plantations.
The project operates under the Carbon Credits (Carbon Farming Initiative, Plantation Forestry) Methodology Determination 2022. Specifically, it involves an "avoided conversion" activity. This means the project proponents have committed to maintaining an existing plantation forest that was otherwise scheduled to be converted into non-forested land, such as pasture for grazing or cropping. By continuing to manage the land as a commercial plantation, the project secures carbon stored in the trees and soil that would have been released during land clearing.
The region is characterized by a high-rainfall climate ideal for timber production, with annual precipitation typically exceeding 700mm. The local terrain generally consists of undulating plains with soils that are often deep, texture-contrast Chromosols or clay loams, which support vigorous tree growth but can be susceptible to waterlogging. The project is managed by Fairthorne Timber Trading Pty Ltd in conjunction with Landari Pty Ltd, a participant associated with numerous aggregated forestry carbon projects across Victoria and Tasmania.
