Nullwarra Improvement Carbon Project 8

Project Information:

Nullwarra Improvement Carbon Project 8 is a soil carbon project located approximately 30 kilometers south of the township of Cobar in central-western New South Wales. Registered in November 2025, the project covers a land area of roughly 495 hectares. The surrounding region, known as the Cobar Peneplain, is a semi-arid landscape predominantly utilized for rangeland grazing of sheep, goats, and cattle, with some opportunistic cropping in favorable seasons.

The project operates under the 2021 Soil Carbon methodology (Estimation of Soil Organic Carbon Sequestration using Measurement and Models). This method credits landholders for increases in soil organic carbon stocks resulting from new management activities. For this specific project, the proponent, Agriprove Solutions, is implementing changes to grazing intensity or duration and applying synthetic or non-synthetic fertilizers to address nutrient deficiencies. These activities aim to improve vegetation cover and soil health, which in turn sequesters carbon.

Environmentally, the site is situated in a semi-arid zone with a median annual rainfall of approximately 390mm, which can be highly variable. The soils in this vicinity are typically red earths (Kandosols) and lithosols, often characterized as loamy or sandy loams which can be fragile and susceptible to erosion if vegetation cover is not maintained. The designation "Project 8" in the title suggests this site may be part of a larger aggregated portfolio or a segmented carbon estimation area within a broader agricultural property.
