Project Information:

Landari Mungo Park 2024 is a plantation forestry project located in the Inverell Shire of New South Wales, approximately 35 kilometers east of Ashford and 60 kilometers north of Inverell. Registered on December 19, 2025, the project covers a total area of 691.74 hectares. The site is situated within the New England Tablelands region, an area traditionally utilized for fine wool grazing, beef cattle production, and mixed cropping.

The project operates under the Carbon Credits (Carbon Farming Initiative, Plantation Forestry) Methodology Determination 2022. It specifically focuses on establishing a new plantation forest on land where no forest has existed for at least seven years. By planting trees for commercial wood production, the project sequesters carbon in the growing biomass and harvested wood products. This methodology requires strict adherence to stocking densities and management plans to ensure the carbon stocks are maintained over the 25-year crediting period.

Environmentally, the region is characterized by a temperate climate with warm summers and cool winters, receiving an average annual rainfall of approximately 650–750mm. The landscape typically features "trap rock" soils (sedimentary rocks) and granites, which are well-drained but can be skeletal in steeper areas, alongside pockets of more fertile chromosols and vertosols suitable for forestry. The proponent, Landari Pty Ltd, is an experienced developer with a portfolio of carbon projects across Tasmania and New South Wales, often focusing on permanent vegetation and biodiversity offsets alongside commercial timber outcomes.
