Yona SOC project

Project Information:

Yona SOC project is a Soil Organic Carbon project located in the North Burnett region, approximately 11km north of Mundubbera in Queensland. It was registered in February 2026 and covers a project area of 262.52 hectares.

Soil Organic Carbon projects operating under the Measurement and Models methodology involve adopting new or materially different agricultural management practices to increase the amount of carbon stored in the ground. To achieve this, the project focuses on altering the stocking rate, duration, or intensity of grazing in order to promote soil vegetation cover, improve overall soil health, or both.

The surrounding Mundubbera area is widely known as the "Citrus Capital of Queensland" and features a mix of diverse agricultural land uses including cattle grazing, broadacre cropping, and irrigated horticulture. The environment is classified as a humid subtropical climate without a distinct dry season, typically receiving an average annual rainfall of approximately 700-760mm primarily during the summer months. Soils across the region vary significantly, ranging from alluvial cracking clays near the Burnett River to red earthy sands, massive gradational soils, and shallow stony pediments found throughout the undulating grazing hills.

The project is managed by Agriprove Pty Ltd (acting as AGRIPROVE SOLUTIONS CO NO.2 PTY LTD), a prominent carbon project developer in the Australian market that frequently partners with landholders to implement regenerative agriculture systems and generate ACCUs.
