Beddall Carbon Project 11

Project Information:

Beddall Carbon Project 11 is a soil carbon sequestration project located approximately 30km southwest of Moura in the Banana Shire region of Central Queensland. Registered on September 16, 2025, the project covers a land area of 234.31 hectares. It is managed by the proponent Agriprove Solutions Co No.2 Pty Ltd, a subsidiary of the major carbon service provider Agriprove, which specializes in soil carbon development.

The project operates under the Carbon Credits (Carbon Farming Initiative, Estimation of Soil Organic Carbon Sequestration using Measurement and Models) Methodology Determination 2021. This high-integrity methodology requires landholders to implement new management activities to boost soil carbon stocks, which are then measured over time against a baseline. Specific activities for this project include altering the stocking rate, duration, or intensity of grazing to promote vegetation cover and introducing legume species into cropping or pasture systems to enhance soil nitrogen and organic matter.

The Banana Shire region is a significant agricultural hub, predominantly known for beef cattle grazing and dryland cropping. The local environment is characterized by a sub-tropical, semi-arid climate with an average annual rainfall of approximately 600mm to 700mm. The soils in this area, often associated with the Brigalow Belt, typically consist of cracking clays and fertile loams, which are well-suited for soil carbon sequestration efforts when managed effectively.

This project appears to be part of a larger aggregation of carbon projects on the Beddall family's holdings, as indicated by the existence of "Beddall Carbon Project 1" in the same locality. Dividing a large property into multiple project areas (or "carbon estimation areas") is a common strategy to manage baselining costs and stagger audit schedules.
