Beddall Carbon Project 3

Project Information:

Beddall Carbon Project 3 is a soil organic carbon project located in the Banana Shire of Central Queensland, approximately 25km south-west of the town of Moura. Registered in September 2025, the project covers 236.85 hectares of agricultural land in the Dawson Valley region.

This project operates under the 2021 Soil Carbon methodology, which rewards landholders for sequestering carbon in agricultural soils. The specific activities for this project involve altering the stocking rate, duration, or intensity of grazing to improve soil vegetation cover and integrating legume species into cropping or pasture systems. By optimizing grazing pressure and increasing plant diversity with legumes, the project aims to build Soil Organic Carbon (SOC) stocks over the 25-year crediting period.

The Dawson Valley region is a significant agricultural hub characterized by beef cattle grazing and broadacre cropping (cotton, sorghum, and wheat). The local environment is classified as semi-arid to sub-tropical, with a summer-dominant rainfall averaging between 600mm and 700mm annually. The soils in this area are predominantly Vertosols (cracking clays) and texture-contrast soils, which are fertile but can be susceptible to erosion during high-intensity summer storms if vegetation cover is not maintained.

The project is managed by Agriprove Solutions, a leading developer in the Australian soil carbon market. The identifier "Beddall" likely refers to the landholder family or property name associated with the aggregation of projects in this series.
