Project Information:

Mount Little Station Riparian Corridor Regeneration Project (Revoked) is a Human-Induced Regeneration (HIR) project located at Mount Little Station in the Etheridge Shire of North Queensland. The project area spans approximately 23,940 hectares and is situated in the Gulf Savannah region, roughly 60km east of Croydon and 80km west of Georgetown. Registered in September 2023, the project was established on a working cattle property where the primary land use is pastoral grazing.

The project operated under the Human-Induced Regeneration methodology, which involves regenerating permanent native forests by ceasing suppression activities, primarily by managing the timing and extent of cattle grazing to allow vegetation to recover. To meet the requirements of this methodology, the land must have been cleared of forest cover for at least 10 years prior to project commencement, and the regeneration must be achieved through in-situ seed sources like rootstock and lignotubers rather than direct planting.

The region is characterized by a semi-arid tropical savannah climate with distinct wet and dry seasons. Rainfall is summer-dominant, often resulting in seasonal watercourses, while soils in the Etheridge Shire typically consist of sandy loams and earths suitable for extensive grazing but limited for intensive cropping.

Notably, the project was revoked in August 2025 under section 30 of the Carbon Credits (Carbon Farming Initiative) Rule 2015. This section of the rule outlines the requirements for a proponent to voluntarily request the revocation of a project's registration, suggesting the proponents, Climate Revive Pty Ltd and Corporate Carbon Advisory, chose to withdraw the project. Climate Revive is a subsidiary of Powerhouse Ventures (PVL) and focuses on balancing carbon outcomes with agricultural productivity.
