Project Endeavour

Project Endeavour is an environmental planting project located approximately 15km southwest of Waroona and 110km south of Perth in Western Australia. It was registered in March 2023 and covers 146.46 hectares.

Environmental planting projects involve establishing permanent forest cover by planting native tree species. Under the standard FullCAM methodology requirements, trees are planted at a minimum density of 200 stems per hectare, intended to eventually reach at least 2 metres in height and 20% crown cover. Project Endeavour achieves this by utilizing a mix of permanent, locally endemic native species.

The Waroona region is traditionally known for robust agricultural activities, including dairy farming, cattle grazing, and cropping. Consistent with these local land uses, the project area itself was used predominantly for agriculture for at least five years before the carbon project commenced. The local environment features a Mediterranean climate characterized by high winter rainfall, and the soils across this part of the coastal plain are generally sandy loams and clay, which traditionally support local pastures.

An interesting aspect of this project is its proponent, Tokyo Gas, marking direct international corporate investment in the Australian Carbon Credit Unit (ACCU) scheme. In August 2025, the participant's name was officially varied from Tokyo Gas Australia Pty Ltd to Tokyo Gas Energy Australia Pty Ltd.
