Project Information:

Bundy Harriet Park Human Induced Regeneration Project (Revoked) was a large-scale carbon farming initiative located in the Bourke Shire Council area of north-western New South Wales, approximately 60km northeast of the township of Bourke. Registered on June 24, 2022, the project covered a significant area of 19,444 hectares within the semi-arid Mulga Lands bioregion. This region is characteristically dry, with low rainfall and red earth soils, and is predominantly utilised for extensive grazing of sheep, cattle, and goats.

The project operated under the Human-Induced Regeneration (HIR) methodology, which credits landholders for regenerating permanent even-aged native forests. The primary activities involved managing the timing and extent of livestock grazing and controlling feral animals to suppress the mechanical or biological destruction of regrowth. By relieving these pressures, the project aimed to allow native vegetation to regenerate from in-situ seed sources like rootstock and lignotubers.

On August 20, 2025, the project was revoked under Section 30 of the Carbon Credits (Carbon Farming Initiative) Rule 2015. This section of the legislation specifically pertains to the voluntary revocation of a project declaration at the request of the proponent. The proponent, Terra Carbon Pty Limited, is a subsidiary of the GreenCollar Group, a major player in the Australian environmental markets sector.
