Voltage Optimisation for Commercial Premises (Revoked)
ERF156028
Project Information:
Voltage Optimisation for Commercial Premises is an industrial electricity and fuel efficiency project managed by Beovista Trading Pty Ltd, a company based in the Cremorne and Mosman area of Sydney, NSW. Because it is a commercial facility-based upgrade rather than a traditional land-based carbon farm, it operates across an unknown area or multiple urban premises. It was registered in June 2020.
Industrial electricity and fuel efficiency projects involve generating Australian Carbon Credit Units (ACCUs) by modifying, installing, removing, or replacing equipment to reduce the energy consumption of existing commercial systems. This project was specifically designed to improve electricity efficiency through voltage optimisation upgrades at existing facilities.
Given that the project targets commercial buildings, the surrounding region is defined by urban commercial and residential land use. The Greater Sydney environment typically experiences a temperate climate with moderate to high rainfall, with infrastructure built on soils primarily composed of Hawkesbury sandstone, sandy loams, and clay. However, environmental factors such as soil type and rainfall do not directly influence the carbon abatement of energy efficiency equipment upgrades.
There are several notable administrative changes associated with this project. On April 7, 2021, the participant name was varied from Beovista Pty Ltd to Beovista Trading Pty Ltd. The project was eventually revoked on November 15, 2022, under section 30 of the CFI Rule. This individual revocation aligned closely with broader regulatory changes; in December 2022, the Emissions Reduction Assurance Committee (ERAC) advised that the 2015 Industrial Electricity and Fuel Efficiency methodology itself should be revoked because many equipment upgrades (such as lighting and voltage management) were becoming standard industry practice, posing a risk to the additionality of the offsets generated.
