Windsor Mountain Carbon Project (Revoked)

Project Information:

Windsor Mountain Carbon Project (Revoked) was a soil carbon sequestration project located in Cawdor, approximately 10km south of Camden in the Macarthur region of New South Wales. The project was registered in April 2020 and covered roughly 55 hectares of agricultural land situated within the Wollondilly Shire.

The surrounding Cawdor area is characterized by rolling rural landscapes traditionally used for dairy farming and grazing. The region typically experiences moderate to high rainfall and features clay and loam soils derived from Wianamatta Shale, which are well-suited for pasture growth. The project's primary activity involved re-establishing or rejuvenating pastures through seeding, a practice designed to increase biomass and sequester carbon into the soil profile.

Managed by Agriprove Solutions, the project operated under the 2018 Soil Carbon methodology. This method requires proponents to implement new land management activities and scientifically measure the resulting increase in soil organic carbon stocks over time to generate credits. The project was voluntarily revoked in September 2025 under section 30 of the CFI Rule, effectively ending its participation in the scheme after approximately five years.
