Windsor Mountain Carbon Project (Revoked)

Project Information:

Windsor Mountain Carbon Project (Revoked) was a soil carbon sequestration project located in Cawdor, approximately 10km south of Camden in the Macarthur region of New South Wales. Registered in April 2020 and covering 55.46 hectares, the project operated on the Razorback Range, an area characterized by rolling hills and semi-rural agricultural land use.

The project employed the 2018 Soil Carbon methodology, which credits increases in soil organic carbon stocks resulting from new management activities. Specifically, this project focused on re-establishing or rejuvenating pasture by seeding to improve soil health and sequestration potential. The region typically experiences moderate to high rainfall, averaging around 700-800mm annually, with soils predominantly derived from Wianamatta Shale, consisting of clay loams suitable for grazing.

As of September 2025, the project was voluntarily revoked under section 30 of the CFI Rule. This section of the rule allows proponents to voluntarily cancel a project, often due to land sales, restructuring, or determinations that the project is no longer viable in its current form. The project was managed by Agriprove Solutions, a prominent developer in the Australian soil carbon sector.
