Prosper Carbon Project

Project Information:

Prosper Carbon Project is a soil carbon sequestration project located in the locality of Ledcourt, approximately 20km west of Stawell and north of the Grampians National Park in Victoria. Registered in December 2017, the project covers 115.65 hectares of agricultural land. The project was originally registered under an earlier grazing method but transitioned to the Estimation of Soil Organic Carbon Sequestration using Measurement and Models method in October 2025.

The project aims to build soil carbon stocks through specific land management activities, including the application of synthetic or non-synthetic fertilizers to address nutrient deficiencies and the rejuvenation of pastures via seeding or pasture cropping. Under the 2021 methodology, these changes are verified through a rigorous process of baseline soil sampling and subsequent modelling or measurement to calculate the issuance of Australian Carbon Credit Units (ACCUs).

The region surrounding Stawell and the Northern Grampians is characterized by a temperate climate with average annual rainfall between 500mm and 600mm, supporting mixed farming and grazing operations. The local soils are typically duplex types, often consisting of sandy or loamy topsoils overlying clay subsoils (Chromosols or Sodosols), which are responsive to nutrient management and pasture improvement for carbon sequestration.

Notably, the project underwent significant administrative changes in late 2025, with the proponent role transferring from Corporate Carbon Solutions Pty Ltd to Agriprove Solutions Pty Ltd. This shift aligns the project with Agriprove's specialized portfolio of soil carbon assets.
