Project Information:

Darling River Eco Corridor 22 (Revoked) is an Avoided Deforestation project located on the "Patricia Vale" property, approximately 60km west of Nyngan and 100km southeast of Cobar in the Orana region of New South Wales. Originally registered as the Patricia Vale Native Forest Protection Project in March 2015, the project covered 5,420 hectares of native woodland. The site is situated within the Cobar Peneplain bioregion, an area characterized by semi-arid conditions and typically red earth or red kandosol soils that support rangeland grazing.

The project operated under the Avoided Deforestation methodology, which is designed to prevent the clearing of native forest on land that has historically been managed for agriculture and holds a valid government clearing permit (issued prior to July 2010). By surrendering the right to clear the land for crops or pasture, the project proponent ensures the carbon stored in the vegetation remains sequestered.

The project was voluntarily revoked in December 2017 under Section 30 of the CFI Rule. It was part of a broader aggregation known as the "Darling River Eco Corridor," a portfolio managed by Terra Carbon (a subsidiary of GreenCollar) which spans multiple properties in Western NSW and Queensland to create large-scale conservation zones while diversifying income for graziers.
