Lyne Carbon Project 2

Project Information:
Lyne Carbon Project 2 is a soil carbon sequestration project located in the locality of verify the Inglewood district, approximately 30km east of Inglewood and 70km west of Warwick in the Southern Downs region of Queensland. Registered in July 2025, the project covers 195.75 hectares of agricultural land primarily dedicated to grazing. This project appears to be an expansion or follow-up to the original "Lyne Carbon Project," which gained significant industry attention as one of the first projects in Queensland to successfully issue ACCUs under the measured soil carbon method.
The project operates under the Estimation of Soil Organic Carbon Sequestration using Measurement and Models Methodology Determination 2021. This high-integrity methodology requires the proponent to baseline soil carbon levels through physical core sampling, implement new land management activities, such as the rotational grazing and pasture rejuvenation used by the Ramsey family on the original Lyne property, and then measure changes over time using a hybrid of physical sampling and modelling. The specific activities for Lyne Carbon Project 2 involve altering stocking rates and grazing duration to improve ground cover and soil health.
Environmentally, the Inglewood region is characterized by a semi-arid to sub-tropical climate with an average annual rainfall of approximately 600-650mm. The landscape often features traprock or sandy loam soils, which can be highly responsive to regenerative grazing practices that increase water retention and organic matter. The success of the proponent, Agriprove, with the previous Lyne project highlights the potential for these soil types to sequester significant carbon when shifting from set stocking to time-controlled rotational grazing.
