24 Degree Forest - Rainforest rehabilitation on slopes and riparian zones - Eden Creek is an environmental planting project located in the locality of Eden Creek, approximately 15 kilometers west of Kyogle in the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales. Registered on March 16, 2024, the project encompasses a significant area of 165.15 hectares. The site is situated within the Kyogle Council area, a region historically dominated by beef cattle grazing, dairy farming, and timber production.

The project operates under the "Reforestation by Environmental or Mallee Plantings-FullCAM" methodology. This involves establishing permanent plantings of native tree species on land that has been clear of forest cover for at least five years, typically former agricultural pasture. A key requirement of this method is the planting of species native to the local area at a density sufficient to achieve forest cover (usually exceeding 200 stems per hectare), thereby sequestering carbon in the growing biomass.

Environmentally, the Eden Creek area is characterized by a subtropical climate with high annual rainfall, often exceeding 1,000mm, which supports lush vegetation and rapid tree growth. The landscape typically features fertile soils derived from volcanic basalt and clay, ideal for the "rainforest rehabilitation" activities specified in the project title. By targeting slopes and riparian zones (riverbanks), this project aims not only to generate carbon credits but also to stabilize soil, improve water quality, and restore biodiversity corridors in a region known for its remnants of Gondwana Rainforests.
