Lindsay Carbon Project 10

Project Information:

Lindsay Carbon Project 10 is a soil carbon sequestration project located approximately 40km west of Augathella in the Murweh Shire region of Queensland. Registered on March 12, 2024, the project covers a land area of roughly 266 hectares. The region is part of the Mulga Lands bioregion, an area predominantly utilized for cattle and sheep grazing on native vegetation.

The project operates under the Estimation of Soil Organic Carbon Sequestration using Measurement and Models (2021) methodology. This method credits landholders for increases in soil organic carbon stocks resulting from new management activities. Key requirements involve establishing a baseline carbon level through soil core sampling and implementing eligible activities, such as altering stocking rates, duration, or intensity, to stimulate plant growth and soil health. Credits are issued based on measured increases over time, typically verified every 1 to 5 years.

Environmentally, the Augathella region is classified as semi-arid with an average annual rainfall of approximately 500mm, though this is highly variable. The landscape typically features undulating plains with red earth soils (Kandosols) and texture-contrast soils, supporting Mulga (Acacia aneura) shrublands and native grasses. The project is managed by AgriProve, a prominent soil carbon developer known for utilizing digital technology and partnership models to streamline participation for graziers. The "Project 10" designation suggests this site may be part of a larger aggregation of projects or a segmented property implementation by the landholder.
