Price Carbon Project

Project Information:
Price Carbon Project is a soil carbon project located in the Liverpool Plains region of New South Wales, approximately 15km from the rural town of Premer, south of Gunnedah. It was registered in December 2024 and covers an area of 361.09 hectares.
Projects utilizing the Estimation of Soil Organic Carbon Sequestration using Measurement and Models methodology involve introducing new agricultural management practices to build soil carbon levels, which are then verified through direct laboratory measurements and modelled data.
The Liverpool Plains area is highly regarded for its productive agricultural land, largely utilized for beef cattle grazing and broadacre cropping. The region experiences a temperate climate with moderate, sometimes summer-dominant rainfall. The local soils are famously fertile, deep, basalt-derived black cracking clays (vertosols), which provide excellent moisture retention and are well-suited for building soil carbon.
This project increases carbon in the soil within the agricultural system by altering the stocking rate, duration, or intensity of livestock grazing. These specific management changes are designed to promote soil vegetation cover and improve overall soil health. The project is managed by AgriProve, Australia's largest soil carbon project developer, which utilizes satellite technology and data platforms to monitor land management and sequestration outcomes.
