Project Information:

Rogers Livestock Pty Ltd is a soil carbon project located roughly 20 to 55 kilometres east of Armidale in the Northern Tablelands region of New South Wales. Registered in March 2021, the project spans 1,873.27 hectares, following a variation in January 2026 that removed some previously listed land areas. The proponent, Rogers Livestock Pty Ltd, operates the nearby property 'Gara Gunyah' on Rockvale Road, northeast of Armidale. The wider Armidale region is well known for its strong agricultural sector, particularly sheep and cattle grazing. This productivity is supported by fertile basalt soils and a cool, sub-humid climate featuring a summer-dominant average annual rainfall of around 760-800 mm.

The project operates under the Estimation of Soil Organic Carbon Sequestration using Measurement and Models (2021) methodology, having transitioned from the older 2018 measurement-only determination in December 2022. Soil carbon projects of this type involve adopting new or materially different land management activities to build and store carbon in agricultural soils. For this specific project, the primary activity is the application of synthetic or non-synthetic fertilisers to address material soil nutrient deficiencies, thereby encouraging root growth and increasing soil organic carbon levels. To earn Australian Carbon Credit Units (ACCUs), the project must demonstrate actual carbon sequestration through rigorous soil sampling and approved models over its nominated 25-year permanence period. The project is managed by Climate Friendly Pty Ltd, acting as the agent.
