Peaches Rd Plantation
ERF160775
Project Information:
Peaches Rd Plantation is a plantation forestry project located at Foster North, approximately 175km southeast of Melbourne in the South Gippsland region of Victoria. It was registered in February 2021 and covers 69.24 ha.
Plantation forestry projects involve establishing and maintaining a new plantation forest for the commercial harvesting of wood products. To meet standard methodology requirements, these projects establish commercial timber plantations on land that was previously used for other purposes, typically requiring an estimated stocking density of around 500 stems per hectare.
The South Gippsland region is heavily utilised for dairy farming, beef cattle grazing, cropping, and forestry operations. The area is classified as a high rainfall zone, typically receiving between 900mm and 1,100mm annually. The local soils vary from red ferrosols to sandy loams, providing a highly productive environment for robust tree growth and pasture.
This project sequesters carbon by increasing the long-term average carbon stock stored onsite in the forest and within the resulting harvested wood products. Originally registered under the name 'Landari Gippsland 1' by Landari Pty Ltd, the project underwent formal variations in February 2026. During this time, the proponent was changed to Dos Honig Pty Ltd as the Trustee for Dos Honig Family Trust, and the project was officially renamed to Peaches Rd Plantation.
