Advance Part Two Carbon Project (Revoked)

Project Information:

Advance Part Two Carbon Project (Revoked) was a soil carbon sequestration project located approximately 25km southeast of Dunedoo and 60km north of Mudgee in the Central West region of New South Wales. Registered in February 2021, the project covered an area of 368.19 hectares. The surrounding region is predominantly utilized for agricultural purposes, specifically grazing and broadacre cropping (such as wheat and canola), consistent with the project's aim to alter grazing intensity to build soil health.

The project operated under the Measurement of Soil Carbon Sequestration in Agricultural Systems (2018) methodology. This method requires landholders to implement new management activities, such as changing stocking rates or grazing duration, to increase Soil Organic Carbon (SOC) levels. Carbon credits (ACCUs) are issued based on measured increases in soil carbon stocks over time compared to a baseline, determined through physical soil sampling and laboratory analysis.

Environmentally, the Dunedoo region is characterized by a temperate climate with moderate rainfall, averaging approximately 620mm annually. The local soil profile typically features Red Chromosols (also known as Red Brown Earths) and sandy-to-clay loams. These soils are agriculturally productive but require careful management to prevent acidification or structural degradation, making them suitable candidates for soil carbon improvement projects.

The project was voluntarily revoked on June 11, 2025, under Section 30 of the Carbon Farming Initiative (CFI) Rule, which allows proponents to request revocation (often to exit the scheme or restructure). The proponent, AgriProve Solutions, is a well-known service provider in the sector, noted for integrating satellite technology and synthetic aperture radar to assist in monitoring soil carbon performance.
