Glynn Carbon Project
ERF159026
Project Information:
Glynn Carbon Project is a soil carbon sequestration project located near Molong, approximately 60km east of Parkes in the Central West Slopes region of New South Wales. Registered in November 2020, the project covers 212.61 hectares of agricultural land within the Cabonne Shire Council area.
The region is characterized by mixed farming operations, primarily grazing and cropping. The local environment receives a mean annual rainfall of approximately 700mm, classifying it as a temperate climate zone. The soils in this area are typically Red Chromosols and Red Earths, which are common across the Central West slopes and possess moderate fertility, making them well-suited for pasture improvement activities.
This project operates under the "Measurement of Soil Carbon Sequestration in Agricultural Systems" methodology (2018). The project activities focus on altering the stocking rate, duration, or intensity of grazing to encourage root growth and organic matter retention in the soil. As with other Agriprove projects, the goal is to generate Australian Carbon Credit Units (ACCUs) by measuring the incremental increase in soil carbon stocks over time compared to a baseline.
