DAC-2015-22 (Revoked)

Project Information:
DAC-2015-22 (Revoked) is a Native Forest from Managed Regrowth project located approximately 35km north of the rural town of Bollon in southern Queensland. Registered in September 2015, the project covered 957 hectares of agricultural land primarily utilized for grazing sheep and cattle. The project area sits within the Shire of Balonne, a region known for its pastoral history and rangeland ecosystems.
The project operated under the Native Forest from Managed Regrowth methodology, which rewards landholders for regenerating native forest on land that was historically cleared for pastoral purposes. Unlike human-induced regeneration methods that focus on suppressing negative pressures (like grazing), this specific method requires a direct cessation of clearing activities, such as mechanical or chemical destruction, to allow the forest to return to a permanent state. The site would have been managed to ensure regrowth reached forest cover thresholds.
Environmentally, the Bollon region is classified as semi-arid, receiving an average annual rainfall of approximately 460mm. The terrain typically features flat to gently undulating plains with soil types ranging from red earth Kandosols to cracking clay Vertosols, which support vegetation communities dominated by Mulga (Acacia aneura) and Poplar Box woodlands.
A notable aspect of this project is its revocation status. The project was voluntarily revoked on August 6, 2021, just one month after the proponent, Devine Agribusiness Carbon, was acquired by the environmental markets investor GreenCollar. The project's federal carbon abatement contract had previously lapsed in 2017, and the subsequent revocation suggests a consolidation or restructuring of the asset portfolio following the corporate acquisition.
