Demand Manager ERF Commercial and Public Lighting Aggregation Project #1 (Revoked)
ERF101921
Project Information:
Demand Manager ERF Commercial and Public Lighting Aggregation Project #1 (Revoked) was an energy efficiency aggregation project managed by Demand Manager Pty. Ltd., headquartered in Sydney, New South Wales. Registered in September 2015, the project was designed to operate across multiple locations rather than a single geographic site. Due to its nature as an aggregation, it did not have a specific land area or set of coordinates; instead, it would have encompassed various commercial and public facilities where lighting upgrades were feasible, likely coordinated from the proponent's administrative base in Sydney's CBD.
The project operated under the Carbon Credits (Carbon Farming Initiative, Commercial and Public Lighting) Methodology Determination 2015. This methodology credits emissions reductions achieved by improving the energy performance of lighting systems. Typical activities include replacing older, inefficient lamps with LED luminaires and installing control gear to reduce electricity consumption in office buildings, streetlights, and public spaces. The project was voluntarily revoked in April 2018 under section 30 of the CFI Rule, a provision that allows proponents to withdraw their project from the scheme, often to restructure or because the specific aggregation did not proceed.
Given that this was an industrial energy efficiency project, the standard environmental metrics of rainfall and soil type are not applicable. The "environment" for this project was the built environment, specifically the electrical infrastructure of commercial and public assets. Success depended on engineering and technology upgrades rather than biological sequestration or land management.
